Next Media Celebrates Women Across Its Ecosystem Ahead of International Women’s Day
Next Media honored the women behind its brands with a special “She Ready” celebration, featuring panel discussions, performances, and recognition of staff from all departments ahead of International Women’s Day. The event highlighted the essential role women play in the company’s creativity, storytelling, and growth.

Next Media held a special event yesterday to recognize the women who contribute to the success of its brands, bringing together women from across all departments for an afternoon of appreciation, reflection, and celebration.

The event, held on March 6 at the Next Media Park under the theme “She Ready: You’re Seen. You’re Heard. You’re Valued,” was organized by the company’s leadership as part of activities leading up to International Women’s Day on March 8.

The initiative aimed to honor and appreciate the many women who power the organization every day, from the newsroom and production teams to marketing, human resources, finance, audit, and technical departments, as well as support services such as cleaners, waiters, and security personnel.

Speaking about the concept behind the event, Joy Mwangi, the Chief Marketing Officer, shared that the celebration was meant to create a space where women could connect, share experiences, and reflect on their journeys beyond their professional roles.

The afternoon featured a panel discussion with notable women leaders, including Ambassador Rosa Malango, Special Presidential Envoy for Tourism & Trade, Uganda; Anete Garoza, Co-Founder of 1MTN and Board Member of Next Media; and Marion Etiang-Busingye, CEO of MOHCA Beauty. They shared personal reflections on womanhood, confidence, life experiences, and the importance of supporting one another. Their stories sparked engaging conversations among Next Media's women, many of whom shared their own experiences about balancing personal life, ambition, and identity.

Beyond the discussions, the event featured performances by Karole Kasita, Jowy Landa, and DJ Tutu, creating a lively atmosphere as women gathered to celebrate womanhood.

Next Media also partnered with several companies to make the celebration memorable for its female staff. Kampala Sheraton Hotel provided food and cake, Peno Events handled the event setup, Tasty Goldy and Ballerina Beauty Spot offered gift hampers, while Kinetics provided manicure and pedicure services for the attendees.

By hosting the She Ready celebration, Next Media reinforced its dedication to valuing the people behind its brands and recognizing the essential role women play in shaping the company’s creativity, storytelling, and growth.

As the world prepares to mark International Women’s Day, the event stood as a powerful tribute that behind every successful media brand are women whose dedication, talent, and resilience continue to make an impact.
